Before becoming Publius in 2026, the product was briefly known as Velosity Legal AI. Long before that, the team was founded over 15 years ago as IDEOM—building a reputation for designing and delivering complex software systems across legal, media, and enterprise environments. Working closely with global organizations, IDEOM specialized in document-intensive platforms, regulated workflows, and high-stakes data processing where accuracy, security, and scale are non-negotiable. That experience became the foundation for Publius.
While supporting legal workflows and large-scale document systems IDEOM saw a recurring problem: small and mid-size law firms were facing the same data challenges as large firms, but without the staff, time, or budget to manage them. Attorneys were spending too much time sorting through documents and too little time practicing law.
Publius was born from that experience. It is a product built by the IDEOM team, designed specifically to help small firms make sense of their legal data without added complexity. Publius uses AI to organize documents, surface what matters early, and support better decisions—so attorneys can focus on cases, clients, and outcomes instead of manual review.
Our mission with Publius is simple : to give small law firms the clarity and leverage they need to compete—by turning overwhelming legal information into clear, actionable insight.
